We have a title to our upcoming book: Falling from the Flames Students are doing edits and rewrites on their stories.  Next week I will be taking the drafts and creating our publishing manuscript for final review and assessment. Cover artists have been notified of their selection.  They have been tasked with creating three layout sketches of possible cover ideas for sharing with the class next Monday November 5th.

This week we are going to be finishing our first drafts (DUE WEDNESDAY OCT 24) and starting to make some decisions around our book title and cover artists. 1) An all call was put out today for those interested in doing art for the cover.  Around 8 students expressed interest. As only two students can provide cover art (front and back) a selection process will have to occur. Students were advised to share 3-5 pieces of visual art with me by next Monday, Oct 22.  Ideally this is shared as a google folder to jcdavidge@educbe.ca.  hard copy portfolios will also be accepted. 2) On Wednesday we will hear from students as to ideas for a book title.  We will make a decision collectively about this next Monday.

The first drafts to our stories are due by the end of class on Wednesday, September 24.  Details on how to submit will be coming soon (to a creative writing class near you).
